In order to take-up new challenges and agricultural prosperity of the country in general and Maharashtra State in particular, the Government had set goals to achieve well trained dedicated manpower in the field of farm mechanization, land and water management, post-harvest technology and rural development. The Department of Agricultural Engineering came in to existence in 1956 with the establishment of College of AgricultureParbhani, with a view to fulfill the requirements of Marathwada region. Enhancing agricultural production and upliftment of farmers was the major objective.Since then, the Agricultural Engineering Department has made rapid progress in several fields and branches for manpower training and development. Agricultural Engineering Department of College of Agriculture, Parbhani is one of the pioneer departments catering the needs of teaching, extension and research in the various areas of Agricultural Engineering, Computer and Mathematics.This department is also looking after various College and University level activities like education, hostel management and estate maintenance.
The department intends to actively pursue engineering and technological innovations in Agriculture and achieve excellence in teaching, research and extension.
